On October 19th, runners will again participate in this unique and scary 5K. Runners who escape the lurking zombies and cross the finish line with their brains (flag football flags) still intact are declared survivors!

Dear Community Member,

Welcome to the Friends of Marshall County Conservation’s online home! Friends is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support conservation efforts within Marshall County, Iowa.

We support the work of the Marshall County Conservation Board (MCCB) through donations toward conservation projects, such as local land purchases for community use, and improvements to existing Marshall County parks and recreation facilities. Check out the projects page to see examples of past accomplishments.

Friends also sponsors the popular “Live and Local” summer concert series at the Grimes Farm Conservation Center. Go to the events page to see future concert dates and learn about other events we sponsor, like the Zombie 5K Run which is held every fall.

We encourage you to consider joining us as a member. Friends members volunteer their time, talent, and funds to help achieve our mission. Membership is very affordable and comes with no obligations.
